The Super Blimp

Lockheed Martin and Hybrid enterprises made a huge blimp. This blimp is different though, it can move up to 60 knots and travel for thousands of kilometer in one trip. The aircraft can also land on any terrain, water or desert without a runway , making it ready to land in the most remote places on earth. Most importantly the blimp is huge, it can carry 20 tons of equipment.  People are now saying that it can be used for mining in remote places in Africa because that's where the better resources are. Companies are saying it could save five to ten billion dollars off the process and take away some of the most time consuming aspects of it. This huge blimp could be the future of mining but it is still unknown what it will be used for.

I chose this article because it seemed cool that a clumsy little blimp floating above sports games, could be used as a huge moving aircraft above the sky moving supplies back and forth. It really intrigued me because it was so big and could carry 20 tons without crashing.  I also thought it was very cool that the Blimp was going to be used for mining in Africa, because it could help people finds millions of dollars in minerals. Most importantly the people getting minerals could save 7 billion dollars and some time in the process by using the blimp.
