5 Self-Sufficient Home Technologies

“Smart Homes” used to be thought of the future. But, “Smart Homes” aren’t necessarily things of our imagination- there are several home technologies that can make home lives much more efficient. One of these technologies is a little orb, the Sense, that monitors your environment while you sleep. It can even wake you up in an ideal part of your sleep cycle, and, by clipping a chip onto your pillow, you can use an app to see details of your sleep. Have you ever wanted to clap your hands to turn the lights on? You can do almost that with the Philips' Hue LED lights, along with the app that comes with it, Apple HomeKit. While you are still in the car or rounding the corner on your way home, you can open your phone and tap on the app, and the lights can be on before you even place a hand on the door. And, speaking of a hand on the door, another budding home technology is Kwikset's Kevo. The Kevo is a smart lock for your doors, and it comes with an app, which is used to program your lock so that only certain people can access the lock at certain times of the day. And, when you do want to unlock the door, you don’t even have to take your phone out of your bag; simply touch it with your finger, and it’ll unlock. Not many people realize the benefits to smart-refrigerators, such as LG’s SmartDiagnosis. This refrigerator immediately connects you with the customer service department if a part of your fridge is broken, and it also has food tracking. It will tell you when your stock of a certain product is running low, when a food item is about to expire, and its interior cameras can track your food anytime of day. I’m sure we have all heard of the Roomba. However, the new Roomba, the Roomba 980, has a WiFi connection, and can be controlled by your phone. Its cameras and sensors make sure that it cleans every spot.
