A new way to pay

Recently, they have come up with an app that can end the credit card fumbling and taking out any cash. It's like Apple pay, except even more innovative. Google created this app called "Handsfree".  So how it works happens like this: You walk into a restaurant or store and the technology in the place uses bluetooth, wifi sensors, and in store cameras connects your phone with you with the cash register while the security cameras matches with the selfie uploaded on the app for confirmation.

I found it interesting because it's the first time I've heard of paying money without touching a thing. No Credit cards or cash or wallets. Just a cell phone with this app available.  Someday it'll only be like that. You can just walk in a mcdonalds and make your order while all of that is going on. That is why I found it interesting.

Super Disks

Scientist in at the University of Southampton have created a disk that can last for one billion years. Which is way longer than an average computer drive, about 999,999,996 years longer to be exact. They can also hold 360 terabytes of data, which is the equivalent  of 22,500 basic iphones. A couple of different things have been put into them such as, the Bible and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. They can also be stored at heats up to 1,832 degrees fahrenheit. I think these are the disks of the future, well if anyone starts using disks again.

APPLE NEWS!

APPLE NEWS!!!!!

The FBI has asked Apple to help them decode a terrorist’s iphone that was involved in an awful massacre. Apple has refused to help them because they do not want to create a code. But Apple keeps refusing because they believe it would leave many other people vulnerable. I support Apple’s decision because imagine a code out there that could open any phone in the world and imagine if a complete stranger had access to your phone. All your calls, texts, notes, where you are ( your phoe had a gps) plus if you have an account like instagram or something on your phone they would have access to that! The FBI has also already stated they have another way to open the phone but it is risky personally I would take the risk because for all you know the man that owned the phone was smart and did not make crime calls on it.

Samsung Roller Coaster

Later in March people will be able to ride one of the nine roller coasters at Six Flags equipped with Samsung Gear VR headsets. The riders will strap a VR headset to their faces and then get on a roller coaster. Now, instead of seeing steel beams and long lines weaving through Six Flags, riders will think they're in space, fighting aliens, or flying through Metropolis with Superman as he fights robots sent by Lex Luthor. On some of the rides, passengers will be able to interact with the virtual world by firing weapons. I think that this is really cool. It will make the roller coasters way cooler, instead of ups and downs, it will be ups and downs with lasers and superman. This will definitely be a big money maker for Samsung and Six Flags.

A street legal electric car just broke a world speed record

Why you chose the story?
I chose this story because like cars and it broke the world speed record

A summary of the story?
The car broke the record on the very first day of testing and The previous record was held by a Finnish prototype car that broke 177 miles per hour.

Why did you find it interesting?
A modified electric Chevy Corvette reached a top speed of 186.8 miles per hour. It is american i thought it would break down.

Possible iPhone 7 Features

I read a very interesting story about possible iPhone 7 features. There were recently some leaked pictures of the iPhone 7 which showed a much thinner design along with no headphone jack. I really like the idea of a thinner phone because when you put a Outerbox case on your phone it gets too big and bulky so hopefully with the thinner iPhone 7, the big Outerbox case will be canceled out by the thin phone. Although the thin phone design sounds like a great improvement the idea of there not being a headphone jack kind of worries me. If there isn’t a headphone jack then maybe you plug your headphones into the area where you plug in your phone to charge it. The estimated release date for the iPhone 7 is the fall of 2016. I thought this article was very interesting and I can’t wait to see these new features be put into action on the iPhone 7.

Signals From Space??

It was recently discovered that mysterious radio signals from beyond our galaxy are appearing, and acting “strangely”. FRBs (Fast Radio Bursts) are quick, very rare blasts of radio waves that start billions of light years away in deep space, as Popular Science explains. They were found starting in 2007, but only 17 total have ever been detected since then and don’t repeat. At least, that was our theory until now- we have found evidence of FRBs that may actually repeat.

Research proves that there can be more than one FRB in the same place out in space, according to researcher Shami Chatterjee, and she stated, “Whatever produces the FRB can’t be destroyed by the burst, because otherwise, what would produce the next pulse?” Also, whatever makes FRBs can recharge like a battery to send out more Fast Radio Bursts. It is a mystery that baffles us, and we don’t have an answer or explanation for anything like this yet. Cool, but creepy!!

New Skateboard?

Over the past years there has been many fun ways to get around. Including segways, skateboards, and electric scooters. Have you ever heard of the “Sidewinding Circular Skates”? If you like to skate and rollerblade then this product is for you! They work like segways by leaning side to side. The sidewinding circular skates consists of a pair of 10-inch rubber wheels with foot platforms, and it moves in a weaving motion and can spin 720 degrees. The circular skates move very swiftly and can move across dirt and thin grass. To stop you simply touch your toes to the ground. If you are a complete beginner to this type of product you can purchase an extendable bar that acts like training wheels, as shown in the picture below. Instead segways you have to learn right away otherwise you will probably fall hard to the ground. This product is only 100$ compared to a 500$ hoverboard. That's a very different price range for the same amount of fun.

An optional rod connects each wheel to give the skater more stability.

The Fastest Electric Car ( not for long )

An electric car with the name of Genovation GXE, broke the record right on the first day of testing! This event occurred at Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds/Shuttle Landing Facility in Florida. The GXE boasts about its 130-mile range during normal driving conditions. Supposedly, that is a Pretty good speed for electrical cars. But although the GXE is a very fast electrical car, another company is working on an even more faster car with a 250-mile range. Because of this, the GXE probably won’t be the fastest electric car for long. This was interesting to me because of how the industry of electric cars are making their cars faster.

Noises under the Sea

Over the weekend, a team of researchers from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported repeated noise in the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the oceans in the world! The two research teams originally planted a microphone in the ocean, 7 miles deep in July 2015, but could not receive the audio they recorded until November, because of weather and shipping schedules. The teams reported that they were hearing the sounds of earthquakes, Baleen whales, and a category 4 typhoon that also passed by.. Slightly creepy, but the microphone also picked up strange man made sounds like hums of ships! The whole purpose of these microphones is to see what happens with animals if you try communicating with man made sounds. The teams also plan on planting another microphone in 2017.

I think this a very interesting story and I can’t wait to hear more on it. I find it interesting because I’m quite the animal person and I feel it is so cool to be able to listen and communicate with animals!

ROBOT "SPOT"!!!!!!

BOSTON DYNAMICS NEW ROBOT "SPOT" THE DOG GETS KICKED!!!!

Boston Dynamics is Known for their amazing robots and sick humor but, did they go too far by kicking their new dog robot “Spot”? That is what many of the people that saw the video that Boston Dynamics put on youtube to robot's ability to recover thought. “Find a different way than kicking the dang thing to get your point across folks, goodness.” Is what a angry commenter posted on the video. Personally I think that it is ok. I am not a cruel person, I actually really love my dog and all other dogs it's just that robots unfortunately don't have feelings, they may represent things like dogs but they don't have the feelings that dogs have. It’s like when an infant gets a new dog toy and puts the toy in its mouth or, throws it across the room you don't get mad at the child because, it’s not real it just resembles a dog. I chose this story to write because I feel very strongly that when they kicked the robot it was just for testing.

ATLAS

I think this was a very interesting article about google’s new robot. It is very fascinating that a robot can pick things up, walk, open doors, and so much more! Atlas is definitely the future of technology in the world. Its also surprising that it weighs 180 pounds and is 5 feet and 9 inches tall. I
can’t believe that it can act almost the same as a human. I think that Google has done a great job on creating this robot.

Robotic Cheetah Jumps!

The new robot cheetah jumps hurdles?

Actually yes! The designers/creators of this cheetah experimented to see if they could create a robot that could jump hurdles and run fast! First they put their creation in a harness on a big treadmill. They put a 27 cm. obstacle (block) and it…… jumps!!! The way this works is the robot uses laser technology to see its environment and any obstacles. The laser tells it when and where to jump, turn, or run. Seeing if there is an obstacle to jump over, they change their position to bound and use leg thrusts to jump over. The robotic cheetah also can run really fast, and turn around objects, jump hurdles without a harness, without falling. This robotic cheetah is an amazing new discovery and creation. It jumps high, runs, turns, and does many cool things with or without something holding it up! This fantastic robotic creation was funded by the DARPA Maximum Mobility and Manipulation.

Google’s New Robot, Atlas

The robot made its first appearance in 2013 during a competition held by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. The new version of Atlas is a result of about seven computer research teams from around the world who were sure to develop software to give Atlas a better brain. Atlas uses sensors fixed into its body and legs to keep its balance. Lasers in its head help Atlas sense and dodge obstacles, navigate, and move objects. With strong operated joints, Atlas can scan its surroundings and roam through complex environments: walking, and climbing stairs. Atlas was created to perform disaster recovery in places dangerous for humans, such as harmful nuclear power plants. The new version of Atlas is smaller and more quick than its enemy. At 5-feet, 9-inches tall and 180 pounds it's about 7 inches shorter and 120 pounds lighter than the first version. It's fully mobile too…..the previous version had to be controlled by a computer. Your Next Android Phone: Smaller But Expandable????

Android is planning to make a phone that is small but expandable and you can add more storage with SD cards. This is a pretty big step up from phones from now to then and Apple may be in trouble. The big screen that you wear on your face.

The big screen that you wear  on your face is a headsets that when you are playing a videogame, and TV shows. When you turn your head , and look around you inside the game. This headset is very expensive , they are at least $800 dollars or $600. You can watch movies on a plan, TV shows, and video games but the idea is to watch stuff on you own so no one else is looking at what you are doing. They are training to make it more comfortably the headset weigh a pound so you are going to try to put it on your head some people are saying that they can only wear it for an hour.
What i think of this it is big idea but it is going to take kids like me to go on that instead of playing outside or playing sports but it is really nice to watch stuff that no one can see what you are doing. It is really expensive

A $4 Smartphone : A First-Rate Fake?

India has just released the Freedom 251, a new smartphone that costs that will revolutionize India's market. This is all good and all apart from the fact that the new smartphone costs only 251 rupees, or $3.65 in American dollars. According to a letter sent to India’s Minister of Communication, a smartphone like the Freedom 251, would cost at least 2700 rupees($40) to produce, and an additional 800 rupees($12) for taxes on the phone. This means that the company producing the phone, Ringing Bells, will lose $26 for every phone sold according to Richard Windsor, and analyst at Edison Investment Research. Because of this controversy about this $4 phone, many people consider this a scam, or a joke. But, whether real or fake, this new phone is stirring up a storm of questions for India’s $4 phone.

Leap Year

This passage was about, well, Leap year. This was also about how the Leap Year was originated. Leap Year originated because a Year in real life on earth is 365 ¼  days, but actually a solar year is 365.24219. This means that our real calendar is out by approximately a quarter of a day. In the year of 45 B.C. a man named Julius Caesar began to add a day every 4 years. He then made a calendar called the “Julius calendar”. And also in the year of 1582 A.D. a slight discrepancy on the calendar, the “Julius calendar”, added up to 10 days. So because of this Pope Gregory XIII made his own calendar called the “Gregorian calendar” which this established February 29th as the official Leap Year date.

My thought of this blog was very interesting and I thought that this was well written. I never knew this much about Leap year so the topic of this made it very interesting.

5 Self-Sufficient Home Technologies

“Smart Homes” used to be thought of the future. But, “Smart Homes” aren’t necessarily things of our imagination- there are several home technologies that can make home lives much more efficient. One of these technologies is a little orb, the Sense, that monitors your environment while you sleep. It can even wake you up in an ideal part of your sleep cycle, and, by clipping a chip onto your pillow, you can use an app to see details of your sleep. Have you ever wanted to clap your hands to turn the lights on? You can do almost that with the Philips' Hue LED lights, along with the app that comes with it, Apple HomeKit. While you are still in the car or rounding the corner on your way home, you can open your phone and tap on the app, and the lights can be on before you even place a hand on the door. And, speaking of a hand on the door, another budding home technology is Kwikset's Kevo. The Kevo is a smart lock for your doors, and it comes with an app, which is used to program your lock so that only certain people can access the lock at certain times of the day. And, when you do want to unlock the door, you don’t even have to take your phone out of your bag; simply touch it with your finger, and it’ll unlock. Not many people realize the benefits to smart-refrigerators, such as LG’s SmartDiagnosis. This refrigerator immediately connects you with the customer service department if a part of your fridge is broken, and it also has food tracking. It will tell you when your stock of a certain product is running low, when a food item is about to expire, and its interior cameras can track your food anytime of day. I’m sure we have all heard of the Roomba. However, the new Roomba, the Roomba 980, has a WiFi connection, and can be controlled by your phone. Its cameras and sensors make sure that it cleans every spot.

Apple vs FBI, What Do Presidential Candidates Think

There has been an ongoing feud between Apple and the FBI for the locked Iphone of one of the San Bernardino shooter.  The FBI wants to unlock the Iphone to see it was a terrorist attack.  Ben Carson, a presidential candidate, thinks that Apple should unlock the phone so other terrorists think that the FBI can not open their phones.  Ted Cruz thinks Apple should be forced to open it with a court order.  Most of the other candidates agree for this can help stop many more terrorist attacks.

To Mars in a Month

The article is about NASA finding a way to use light from Earth, reflected off from a large sail, to propel a spacecraft at high speeds. At this speed, NASA could send people to Mars in a month. The Space Launch System currently being built would send people to Mars in 5 months. We could even travel outside the solar system. “There is no known reason why we can’t do this,” Philip Lubin, a NASA scientist, says.

I chose this article because it was about space, and that I hadn’t read it before. I found it interesting because it would allow us to go to Mars quickly, and we could even make it outside of the solar system.

Are Female Emojis Sexist?

"They're all mainly pink.” said one girl. And it’s true, there is one girl that is getting her hair cut and there is also a girl that is raising her hand. Guess what, the shirts that they are wearing are both pink!! Then there is someone painting their nails and you won’t guess what color they are! PINK!
Another reason why they are sexist is there are no girls that are playing sports at all! they are completely all boys, except for one. She is surfing.  Why can’t there be any girls playing basketball, soccer, lifting weights, and all of the other sports?! Like what’s wrong with that?! Then of course there are the princess and bows, also known as the so called “Girly stuff”.
I think the person that wrote this got their point across very clearly. I liked this article because I’m a girl myself and I didn’t even realize this. Google’s and Boston Dynamic's robots are developing more human-like skills!

Google’s new robot is designed to overcome destructions and is becoming easier to compare to humans. At 5-feet, 9-inches, this robot is 7-inches shorter than the first version. To add to the robot’s update, it is 180 pounds, which means it beats the first version by 120 pounds less.

Boston Dynamics makes robots which can run faster than Usain Bolt, jump as high as 30 feet, and climb walls like Gecko. Spot is designed to walk just like a dog with 4 legs.

One of the robots was able to pick up 10 pound boxes and place them on shelves. Another robot was pushed to the ground, but able to stand back up.

This article caught my attention because I was very interested in how a robot works. Google has made many robots with different skills and traits. Because of all of these robots, I was very fascinated to read this article. All of these robots are different and are very entertaining to read about. This is the reason why I chose the article to write about.

Rectangular Phone or Circular Phone

Are you ever tired of your typical rectangular smartphone? Christina Cyr and Linda Inagawa are about to change that. There was an article about how these girls are going to make the Cyrcle. It is a phone in the shape of a circle. The article states that the girls think that a circular smartphone is much more efficient and convenient.

I agree that the Cyrcle is very convenient but I am not sure that I am ready to give up my rectangular phone. I think that if I had a circular phone it would be easier to carry around but not as easy to use as the rectangular phone that we have now. It could be hard to play games or search the internet on the cyrcle because it is so small. Although I understand where Cyr and Inagawa are coming from, I would rather keep my rectangular phone for now.

Cyber Attacks: when your workers work against you

Cyber attacks: when your workers work against you

As cyber attacks get more sophisticated, there is still no end in sight, says Dr. Guy Bunker, an expert from cyber security firm Clearswift. He says that its no longer about small things like documents or web history. Car designs, fashion secrets, virtual reality passcodes, they all have a value to someone, so they are all at risk.
58% of attacks come from within the extended enterprise and the companies themselves. The people who hold your passcodes are most likely to break them. Really, this could be easily prevented if the employees were observed when working so that there was no way a hack could escape the employer’s view.

I found this topic interesting because it poses a real threat, and I don’t like much technology besides gaming and programming, so this is new and interesting- though not actually ‘new.’

New Superman Crystal

Superman’s gadgets can finally be a reality! Not really, but researchers from the U.K. have developed a way to store digital data inside tiny structures inside a glass disk. This should ring a bell to Superman fans, but people who haven’t watched the Superman movies, Superman actually uses a memory crystal to generate holograms of people from his home planet.

Whats even better? The fact that this tiny piece of glass can store up to 360 terabytes of data (the equivalent of 22,500 basic iPhones) and be so stable and safe that it can survive billions of years. So do people just use it to store data like a hard drive? Not quite, researchers thought that it would be a better use of this futuristic glass to store history of mankind, so we don’t have to guess that people from the 21st century eat bread between two sausages.

This shows the magic inside this memory crystal :“The wizardry involved is invisible to the human eye. The scientists use a sophisticated laser to encode the information into minuscule formations, known as nanostructures, inside fused quartz. The structure alters the way light travels through the glass, allowing data to be read by special optic devices.” That’s right, no more putting cords into our computer!

I think this is an important breakthrough for our future because we don’t have to guess our past anymore and always have a digital backup for the most important things humans have discovered or made, from the Holy Bible to the Declaration of Independance.

Activision Buys King’s Mobile Gaming Company

Why Did I Choose This Story?
I picked this story because it interested me in what Activision was doing to push into mobile gaming community.

Summary
Activision buys King’s mobile gaming company for a huge 5.9 billion dollars. Activision are the creators of such games as Call Of Duty and World of Warcraft. They have now  made a push to go into the mobile gaming and buy one of the most grossing games Candy Crush. Activation is now dominating in console, pc, and mobile gaming because of this buy.

Fun Fact
Activision payed more money than Disney did for Star Wars, Activision spent a whopping 5.9 billion dollars while Disney bought Star Wars for 4.05 billion dollars.

Apple vs the FBI

This story was about the FBI wanting apple to build them an app, so that they can figure out how to break into an iphone, of a terrorist, without the iphone’s memory being erased. Apple’s lawyer, Ted Olson, mentioned how if apple loses the case, the government could have infinite power, over your devices. Also, the government could track whatever you do. This case will be taken to the Supreme Court, on March 22. I hope that Apple does win the case. Even though, the information on the phone may be useful, it’s unfair if the government can see what’s on your phone, at any point.

apples new paton on earbuds

apple has just made a patent for wireless earbuds. they are probably going to come with the iphone 7 or 8. this is because apple is thinking of removing the headphone jack port on the iphone 7. but will probably make a lightning cable with a headphone jack port available to buy this will be about 35 dollars. this is also said to lose sales on the iphone 7. because if they remove the headphone jack people wont want to buy new headphnes for there phone but the real reason they might do this is to promote bluetooth headphones

Snapchat Employee Falls For Email Phishing Scam

Many phone calls and email scams look very real. This was proven true, when an employee of Snapchat revealed pay information to someone who pretended to be the CEO Evan Spiegel. This was obviously legitimate enough for this unidentified worker. Since these types of message look incredibly real, they evade spam and other security filters. Snapchat promises that no user data was compromised and all of the people affected will be taken care of. This incident was reported to the FBI for further investigation. Snapchat refuses to give more information while the incident is being looked into.

This was a very interesting story to choose. I chose it because I have a snapchat and I wanted to know if my personal information was being sent to other people. One thing that makes this interesting is, the fact that people way up in high secured companies still fall for internet scams. It kind of puts doubt into the minds of the users that even the very important and secured networks are being hacked and and scammed. I thought this was a very interesting story.

This is a very unique article how the FBI wanted to break into someone’s phone but apple said “no”.

The FBI has been asking people from Apple to help them remove the safeguards on the phone, but Apple simply said “no”, because it was invading someone's’ privacy. Apply told them what if it wasn’t one of the shooters that killed 14 people in San Bernardino, California then they would be going through someone’s phone that is innocent. On Tuesday March 1, 2016 there was a five hour session talking about the pros of opening the phone and the cons of opening the phone. Members of the house Judiciary committee creamed FBI director James Comey by telling him the pitfalls of creating security vulnerabilities. Apply argued saying if they remove the safeguards the company would have to create new software that could be exploited to break into any iphone.

In this blog I think that the FBI should have the right to get into the phone but i’m also on Apple's side because if you open that phone then people would be like well you opened that phone why can’t you open mine, also it’s going through someone’s phone without permission. I mostly agree with Apply but have a little agreement with the FBI.

Do You Know Why There Is A Leap Year?

This was a very interesting article about Leap Year! We skip one day in one month in four years. It is said that we have 365 days in a year, but scientist prove that we have 365 ¼ in a year. (actually 365.24219 days) This means the sun orbits around the earth for about 365 ¼ days. Julius Caesar, saw what was going on with the days, so she started to adding an extra day every four years. There was a little disturbance in the Julius calendar when the calendar added up to 10 days. Pope Gregory Xiii made a new calendar, the Gregorian calendar. Then made February 29th the official date for Leap Year.

In the blog I read, I wouldn't like to be born on February 29th. I wonder what happens on their birthday? I would hate to be born on February 29th because every four years, you’ll have to change the date you celebrate or not celebrate at all.

Undertale best game so far since FNAF by Matt

Undertale best game so far since FNAF by Matt

So play the game to see the world of monster and adventure with Sans and Papyrus fight Flowy and find your destiny.I hope you like Undertale as much as i do.And my favorite character is Mettaton the robot. This was matt's review and have a good day.

Why Do We Have A Leap Year?

You probably know that each year we have 365 days. You probably also know that every four years there's an extra day in February. Well today’s that day! That’s right, today is February 29, 2016. We finally get that extra day in the year we've been waiting for!
The Question is; “Why do we have a Leap Year?”
Well I’m going to answer that question. You might know that each year we have 365 days in a year because that’s how long it takes for the earth to orbit the earth. In reality, it actually takes the earth 365 ¼( Or to be exact, 365.24219 days ). It would be perfect if it were actually 365 ¼ days, but since 365.24219 is a little bit more than 365 ¼ days, that little bit keeps adding up over the years. Now, a leap year happens every four years, but only in the century years that are divisible by 400.
This is the reason that that we have leap years and how they happen. I hope this helped you get the information you were looking for.

San Bernardino Syed Farook's Phone

On Feb. 20, 2016, Apple and Federal Bereau of Investigation (FBI) are having problems. The FBI needs to unlock shooter Syed Farook’s phone without erasing the data. Tim Cook, the Apple Chief Executive, refused the FBI’s order. Court directed Apple to give the FBI a signed iPhone software file. It is basically a custom version of iOS that only works on the target device.  In my opinion, Apple should help the FBI. It would most likely be helpful to figure out information about shootings and the people who are involved.

The Cyrcle

Two friends, Christina Cyr and Linda Inagawa went together to change how mobile phones look and are designed. Their company is called Dtoor, which stands for designing the opposite of rectangle. Their first planned product is called the Cyrcle, a round mobile phone. They wanted to energize smartphones with more interesting designs than a boring old rectangle.

I chose this story because I was really interested in how they were able to make smartphones look so fun on the outside. The Cyrcle looks really fun and wacky and I think that it would be a cool change. We already have other cool inventions like fitbits and Skybells, so I think jazzing up smartphones would be nice.

Microsoft Taking on Hackers

Microsoft is releasing new software that can tell you when you are being hacked. According to Microsoft, it will take people 280 days to diagnose and contain a hack, which is why they are adding a new software that detects a hack. This is being added to Windows 10’s Windows Defender. The FBI is being extra cautious and is adding Windows 10 and Windows Defender to all of their PCs. They plan to do so within the next 12 months. The goal of this software is to be able to detect a hack quickly. They also aim to save the customer an estimated 12 million dollars.

Their system will also alert other machines that seem to be suffering the same problem. This will help Microsoft detect more problems faster.

Why do we have a leap year?

We have 365 days in a normal year. But, every four years, we have a leap year which is one more day of February. But why do we have a leap year? A year is how long the earth takes to rotate around the sun. But, it's not like every four years the earth takes one more day than the last three years.

Now I know why they make a leap year. They make a leap year because every year is is not 365 days, but 365.24219 days which is rounded to 365 ¼ days. But, 365.24219 days is a little bit less than 365 ¼ days and over time, it adds up. Therefore, only in centuries years if it is divisible by 400, it is a leap year, but if it is not divisible by 400, it is not a leap year.

This is why we have a leap year and what the problem is if we don’t.

Microsoft Stops The Hacking

Microsoft is now informing you when you are getting hacked. I feel that is a great idea I think this will raise profits. Now the question Is how on earth do they do this. Microsoft is adding a new feature in windows, called defender line of anti hacking tool. This windows defender is working its way to coping with reality. i feel like other companies should figure out  how microsoft did this and copy it. Microsoft has said that it usually takes on average  280 days to detect some one and 80 day to contain it. And that alone cost companies $12 million.

USB cables potentially frying laptops

As two people have recently found out, a bad USB cable can damage your device. Two men plugged in USB cables that they had bought from Amazon. After plugging in the cables, Benson Leung’s Chromebook Pixel wouldn’t boot and Dieter Bohn’s MacBook Air’s USB ports are no longer working. Both men were using USB Type-A-to-USB Type-C cables. The cables initially looked like the culprits, but after interviewing some USB experts, we aren't so sure.

The Human Robot

The humanoid robot, called Atlas, who was created by Alphabet company Boston Dynamics, has just gotten a huge update. The new Atlas is five foot and 9 inches and weighs 180 pounds, and is 7 inches shorter and 120 pounds lighter than the old Atlas. It is also mobile, while the old Atlas was connected to computers. The Atlas has sensors in its body and legs to keep it balanced. It also has lasers in its head to sense and avoid objects, move, and move objects.

I chose this article because I thought it was interesting how Boston Dynamics was making robots even more advanced. I thought this article was interesting because it explains the new update of Atlas and how it senses and moves.

Tesla Model S for Kids

The Tesla Model S for kids is a funny but good idea. My little cousin would love to drive this all over the place. He could use it for playtime and more. He is always wanting to drive something. He would run around acting like he was driving the fastest car in the world. If I get this for him then he could chase me all over the place. I think that this idea of the Tesla Model S might be the funnest toy for kids. I saw this Little Tesla with a kid in it.
I thought that that was a little weird. But I was also quorate. So I looked at the price, which was $500. And it looks just about real, except there is a kid sticking out of the roof of the little car. “The one-seater cars were created in collaboration with Tesla (TSLA) and are for kids between the ages of three to eight. The cars come in three colors: red, blue and "midnight silver metallic." They boast special lithium ion batteries that are supposed to charge faster and last longer than any other battery-powered kiddy car.” said,  http://money.cnn.com/2016/02/16/autos/tesla-model-s-for-kids-elon-musk/index.html.
Now I think that I should get this for my cousins. They would love this odd car!

Second Sight

Many people have eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa, which is being blind. For a while there has been no cure for blindness. This has all changed after second sight was invented. This is how it works, a surgeon attaches an electrode array to the eye that receives signals from a pair of glasses worn by the blind person that have with a video camera. The camera captures video and submits the pictures as series of electrical pulses to the eye that the brain then takes as visual images. Second sight does not get rid of the damage, however it helps people see shapes and see the difference between light and dark. Second sight is helping people see again. Googles Smart self-driving car ends up in a bit of a jam

On February 14 Google’s smart self-driving test car got into a bit of a jam. After millions of miles and six years of testing, a crash in San Francisco, California beat up the car a bit. The car was trying to get around sandbags on the side of the road and didn't see the bus coming around the corner and crashed into its left side. Luckily nobody was injured or hurt. Google is repairing the car and doing some minor touch ups on it.

Glasses to Help the Blind

A company called Second Sight has come out with a new way to help the blind (partially) see. These glasses are called Argus II, and 170 people in the U.S now own them. In order for them to work, and surgeon must attach an electrode array to the retina, which, when worn with the glasses picks up a signal. The brain then perceives these into pictures. For example, you would be able to see a window, doorway, etc. In one special case, a man was able to see letters. However, these glasses do not come cheap. The glasses are about $143,000, which is a reasonable price to pay for partial vision.

Bugatti Chiron

Recently French supercar maker Bugatti has unveiled the new Bugatti Chiron. Currently Bugatti only has four models of cars. All of them are variations of the famous Bugatti Veyron. The Veyron was unveiled during a 2005 auto show. It was named the fastest car in the world by Guinness World Records. But, its era is about to end. Bugatti says that the Chiron will be a "completely new development." According to the car maker, it'll be faster, more powerful and even more expensive, with a base price of €2.4 million ($2.6 million). Bugatti estimates that the car will go a whopping 260 mph and will have 1,500 horsepower. Bugatti also says ¨It is part of human nature to cross boundaries and set new records," Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer said in a statement. "This striving is also our driving force at Bugatti. The Chiron is the result of our efforts to make the best even better." Bugatti, says that they will only make 500 of the first Chiron series and a third of them have already been sold. I chose this article because I like cars and Bugatti is one of my favorite car brands.

What is 5G?

Five years after 4G smartphones hit the market, 5G is being developed, but it is yet to be known what it will mean and what it will look like. Bill Smith, president of AT&T’s network operations, said that 5G  will likely be defined in 2018. The standards will determine the characteristics it must include and the wireless technologies that can be considered 5G. “5G will be faster, smarter, and less power-hungry than 4G.” 5G would be fast enough to stream 8K video in 3d or download a 3d movie in about 6 seconds, and be almost 40 times faster than 4G. Unfortunately,  some people believe “peak speeds are fun to dream about, but actual speeds not as fast as promised.” I thought this was interesting because 5G is already being developed only 5 years (8 years now) after 4G was released.

Company Creates Glasses for Colorblind

A company has figured out a way to make glasses that cure color blindness. They don’t actually cure you, but make it so you won’t be color blind while wearing them. Color blindness is a defect that makes you see too much green light, or too little green light.
The glasses fix this by shading the part of your eye that mixes red and green light. The glasses are said to even improve normal vision, making things sharp and more colorful.

I liked this story because the glasses could be used often and could help the colorblind with things like traffic lights and signs. They might even lead to the ability to cure color blindness. It was very interesting and a revolution for the color blind.

Colorblind?

Can you imagine being colorblind? Many people struggle everyday, seeing colors. For example, many people who are colorblind can not see the color on the  traffic light so many people just go if they think the road looks clear, this causes many accidents. There is no cure, but the company EnChroma has created glasses that help people see the colors more vividly. Colorblindness does not mean you can't see any colors, it just means some colors blend and look duller than others.
These glasses help people who absorb too much green light, see certain colors more clearly. They can also help people whose eyes did not absorb enough green light. Seeing too much or too little green changes they way you see all the colors. These glasses may not completely allow you to see all the different shades of each color, but at least allow to see the difference between some colors and shades of colors. These glasses help by shielding your eyes from the part of the spectrum where red and green overlap the most. These glasses even help people who aren't colorblind by just making it look different.
I found this story interesting because this is a new way for people who are color blind see their lives. These glasses could lead to a cure eventually. Since they have discovered how to create these glasses, maybe someday they will be able to figure out a way to do something to someone's eyes. I think these glasses could be a step into our future.

India’s $4.00 Smartphone

I think this was an interesting story of how there is a new smartphone in India that cost only 251 rupees ($3.65). The smartphone actually has a 4-inch display, 1.3-GHz quad core processor, and 8GB of storage. Pankaj Mohindroo, national president of the Indian Cellular Association, claims that it seems to be a joke or a scam. He also claims that when using the cheapest components, a phone should cost at least 2700 rupees ($40), and with taxes it would cost at least 3500 rupees ($52). Which just leads to this: Is it too good to be true?

I think this is interesting because, seriously, I’ve never heard of a phone that cost $4.00. I wanted to read the story because I found it weird and unusual for a phone to be priced at $4, so I decided to keep reading about it.
